So you have to use a lot of VE Pro instances, but the way the VE Pro Server manages those instances is frustrating. So you can have a total of 16 MIDI channels shared by all those VIs.
Because the AU spec only supports 1 MIDI port per VE Pro instance. So each instance of VE Pro can have up to 32 MIDI ports of 16 channels each for a whopping 512 MIDI channels per instance. Will write a detailed version in a month or so, as I say, as there are a few helpful things. If you want to do this on the same computer, it works exactly the same, but obviously your samples and VE pro app are on your main computer, so no need for an ethernet cable. no need for auxes (unless you want to get into routing stuff.) It's so unbelievably simple when you've done it a few times, and reliable as hell. It takes about 10 secs! All audio and MIDI is carried from the slave computer by an ethernet cable. There are other points, such as if you want to create a new VE instance in DP which saves ALL the settings in DP, rather than saving the Vframe/mframe on the slave, but don't hav time to write it all up at the mo. You see the instance of Vienna which you've opened on the slave and click connect.ĥ) select a MIDI channel in DP, as you would any other Virtual instrument. Maybe I should just do some research., but does it basically work like rewire in that you create some aux tracks in dp to receive the audio from VE Pro?
